•interesting takes. also an added development that elon replied to openai's tweet "They don’t actually have the money" and "SoftBank has well under $10B secured. I have that on good authority." Still not sure why his PAC tweeted the announcement and Yaccarino bumped it... may be explained most simply as a failure in communications and the PAC twitter internet and Yacc acting out of accordance with how Elon would have preferred them to have handled it. idk

•Something is not adding up here. Trump announces $500B investment in "AI infrastructure for OpenAI." America PAC founded by Elon, who is openly anti-OpenAI, and competing with xAI, tweets it as positive news. Elon's CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino celebrates in the comments. Something more to this...

Experimenting with publishing select episodes from Purple People on my POD OF JAKE feed. It's a good way for me to keep both active as I continue to enjoy a focus on talking with Farcaster people, and maybe it will help bring a few extra folks onto the purple protocol.

•People constantly overestimate the predictability of the future in aggregate. You can predict some things correctly, of course. The extrapolation of existing things mostly. But you’re going to miss some massively important impossible to predict things. Even if you get them directionally accurate (pandemic is a risk) you won’t know specifics or timing (COVID 2020).

•I might just keep doing /purplepeople until it is the #1 podcast on farcaster and then keep doing it still until farcaster has 100 million users.
It's a simple plan, but it just might work.

•The variance between traditional investors and crypto natives is astounding. Even super pro Bitcoin institutions like BlackRock only recommend "up to 2% of your portfolio in Bitcoin." Meanwhile grown men are out here holding half their net worth in Dickbutt and Fartcoin.
Episode #22 is with the moxie man, chef @betashop.eth.
I respect Jason's conviction and persistence as a builder.
One of the most impactful on Farcaster since the beginning.
We talked Moxie, Base, Farcaster, privacy, and more.

•My life’s timeline is about to split and I can see it coming because a specific significant change either is or is not going to happen and if it happens it’s a big change and if it doesn’t then it will have been a potential big change that didn’t happen which is a split in and of itself. The time before a foreseeable split is really something. You could relate by thinking about what it was like in the days leading up to the last presidential election, if it felt like roughly a 50/50 going in. Knowing 2 very different outcomes are possible and when you will know one way or the other and not having control over which will come to fruition.

•Have only ever had positive interactions with @cryptoforchange who is higher aligned and so I assume a good guy, so I’m not trying to pick on him personally. I’ve probably done this myself too. So I’m just using his cast to make a point. Which is that the combination of “literally” and hyperbole is at the root of a lot of unnecessary fighting on the internet. The core issue is that both certainty and extremity get engagement so this kind of language gets rewarded. Uncertainty and nuance on the other hand are often lost in the void.

•Concept called leapfrogging describes people who skip a generation of technology. For example, never owned a computer went straight from nothing to smartphone. Modern leapfrogs are going straight from read-only internet to reading and owning, skipped the writing part (as per the Chris Dixon read write own terminology)
